Hi ! Did you notice how messed up my last email was? I got a new phone because mine was destroyed the other day 🥴.

For a few days, my phone was not understanding anything I dictated. It was even butchering phrases I had already fixed before hitting send.

I had to go Googling and figure this out. So here's what to do if your Android voice to text mangles everything you say. (iPhone may be similar but I don't really know because I haven't had one in years.)

Choose Google as your voice to text engine.

There may be a spot that says Voice Input as it relates to whatever phone you have. It's under the keyboard and language area of your settings.

Uncheck that box that takes voice input from whatever phone manufacturer you have. You don't want that to be in conflict with Google voice.

Next, speed up the rate and change the pitch to whatever pitch you use. I tend to use a low, nasally pitch so that's what I pick 😂.

All of that has seemed to correct the problems I was having. Let me know if it works for you. I find dictation hugely helpful when I'm trying to send out emails on the go.
