Don't just transform...

Hey ,
Are you doing what so many others seem to be doing… idling over on Facebook, reading people's controversial posts and thumbs-upping or clicking "angry emoji"… or even taking the time to carefully craft well-thought posts that people are likely just skimming over, picking out one sentence
or phrase, and choosing to react to that one sentence or phrase, creating a confusing mass of counter productive communication that may as well be a pile of snarled and crossed wires?
Stop doing these things! Stop it, I say.
I was talking to my son the other day, and I told him that he can choose how he wants to be. By the time the current generation of kids are grown, they're going to be separated into the Action Takers, and the nose pickers who spend their lives thumbs-upping on social media, or whatever technology-based time-waster will be out there, designed to reduce people to an entire generation of non-doers.
If you think about it, technology is The Very Thing that can help you rise to the top of the pile if you know how to use it correctly.
So if you're online, I'm not saying that's wrong. I'm just saying stop liking and making faces because that is for the Non-Doers and you are a Doer. Or… are you?
People seem to forget that on the information highway, we have total control over the information. At least we do for now, unless someone in a high place decides to take this away from us.
So listen. Here are some GREAT ideas for spending your time wisely online.
If you have a skill, SHARE IT! If you're well-versed in a subject, TEACH IT! Write an article about it, take pictures, make a video… everything is at our fingertips. We have this amazingly powerful tool of connection at our disposal. Stop bitching on Facebook and USE IT.
If you champion a cause, don't just type a post about it. Write a letter to someone in a position of power who can help you bring about positive change. Get people to sign on for the cause.
If you think it's fun to have a blog (no, a blog is not a public diary anymore - I actually learned recently that people still think this), then plug that blog into MONEY. Look into paid advertising, affiliate programs, connecting with other professionals who can help you bring in new business and clients.
You can custom-design your own job, and part ways with the rat race forever, just for the simple blessing that we have this amazing, powerful technology that we can reach out with and connect with the entire world.
I just released an awesome online crash course to help you master the finer points of aMember's membership software. A member site is one AWESOME way to take your knowledge and skills a step further so you can offer tiered pricing to people with big and little budgets. Put your ideas out there! Make a difference for someone. Reach out and make a REAL connection on the internet. A member site is budget friendly and
offers so much potential for business building it's not even funny.
Yesterday I googled "Aspire Higher" because it popped into my head, and I found a coach's website. I was all read to snap up the domain, because that's what I feel in my soul. Someone else is doing just that. Good for that person!
I hope you do something positive today that springs from an inner calling and brings you closer to realizing your dreams.
It may look foggy out your window. But if you step outside you'll realize that's just our spectacular planet preparing to transform yet again.
Don't just transform. Transcend.
